Protection of private data

I Rights of companies on the free listing in the directory

A company whose details are on the free listing in the Directory has the right to access, to rectify and to delete such details.
It may also object to the inclusion of its details in the Directory, vie myEUROPAGES.
In all such cases, a representative of the company must make its wishes known to EUROPAGES, specifying the nature of the request

EUROPAGES strives to respond to any request with four (4) weeks.

II DISCLOSURE OF PRIVATE DATA TO THIRD PARTIES

EUROPAGES does not sell, rent or market the private data it collects on the site europages.com.
EUROPAGES reserves the right to disclose the private data it collects in accordance with the law. 
EUROPAGES may forward certain private data to trustworthy subcontractors or partners in order to provide certain functionalities of the site www.europages.com.
EUROPAGES may forward to its commercial partners requests for information relating to the inclusion of an Advertisement in the Companies Directory.
In such cases, the private data forwarded by the Users of the site www.europages.com shall be processed in order to respond to the request for information.
This process shall not exclude the presentation of additional new offers, new products and/or new services.

III Jurisdiction

In the event of major difficulty or dispute between the User and EUROPAGES, the Parties hereby agree to seek an amicable settlement. 
Should this fail, any such dispute shall be submitted to the Nanterre Commercial Court.
The present Terms of Use shall be subject to French law.
Should the present Terms of Use be translated, the French version shall prevail over all others.

IV CO-BRANDING

When EUROPAGES incorporates and posts the content of the sites of selected partners so as to provide products and services relevant to the visitors to the site europages.com as part of the Business Resources service, the partners' servers may collect private data when using the Business Resources.
When a partner incorporates and posts on the pages of its Internet site the content of the Companies Directory as part of a co-branding operation, the partner's server may collect private data when using the co-branded pages. 
In neither of these cases does EUROPAGES' private data protection policy apply.

V DATA STORAGE DURATION

EUROPAGES stores private data for one (1) year for connection data (statistical purpose only) and for data forwarded voluntarily since the last contact from the User on the site europages.com or when the User has not responded to two successive requests.
The duration of the registration for a registered or subscribing User, extended by a period of twenty (20) working days from the request to delete the registration.
Bank details (credit card number and cryptogram) are destroyed as soon as the order has been delivered or refused.

VI COLLECTION OF PRIVATE DATA

When browsing on the site europages.com, certain private data is created automatically.
This electronic identification data includes: 
connection data: The IP of the User's computer, the type and version of navigation software, the URL address visited, the version consulted, etc.;
usage data: keywords typed, search(es) made, the sector(s), field(s) and heading(s) selected, the data collected when using the Call Button (such as the advertisement contacted or the time of the call and its duration).
Other private data may be forwarded voluntarily by the User to EUROPAGES, notably: 
data entered into the online forms;
data entered when sending a page to a friend;
data collected when the "Click to talk" free call Button is used ;
data entered so as to receive an alert;
data forwarded during online surveys;
etc.

VII DECLARATION TO THE FRENCH NATIONAL COMMISSION ON COMPUTING AND LIBERTY (CNIL)

In accordance with the law on computing and liberty, the processing of personal data on the site europages.com has been declared to the CNIL under the registration number 718289.

VIII USER'S RIGHT OF OBJECTION

Users of the site europages.com have the right to object to their private data being processed.
Should Users receive mail, electronic or not, that they do not wish to receive, they may:
either request to receive no further messages by clicking on the "Stop receiving emails" link provided for this purpose; or write to the following address, specifying the nature of the request:

IX USER'S RIGHT OF ACCESS, RECTIFICATION AND DELETION

Users of the site europages.com who have voluntarily provided private data may exercise free of charge their rights of access, rectification and deletion on addressing a request to EUROPAGES.
Registered or subscribing Users shall have the right of access online to all of their private data that has been collected.
At any time, they are able to access and rectify themselves the information they have provided on registration or subscription through myEUROPAGES.
Furthermore, any User wishing to unsubscribe can contact EUROPAGES to request this.
In other cases, Users may exercise free of charge their rights of access, rectification and deletion on addressing a request to EUROPAGES specifying the nature of the request:

EUROPAGES strives to rectify any private data in its possession that it learns to be inaccurate or incomplete within four (4) weeks of notification.

X SECURITY OF PRIVATE DATA

EUROPAGES uses several types of technology to ensure the security and confidentiality of the private data recorded on its servers.
All data relating to its Users is processed on servers protected against external intrusion by firewalls.
Strict rules on monitoring access are applied so as to prevent unauthorised access, the loss, improper use or modification of the private data stored.
Furthermore, certain private data is only transmitted during secured sessions. Such sessions currently use the SSL standard.
EUROPAGES ensures that only its staff requiring certain information to provide the service requested by the User may gain access to its Users' private data.

XI COOKIES

XI.1 Configuration of cookies

Users may choose to accept or refuse cookies by modifying the parameters of their browser.
They may configure their browser to refuse all cookies or be warned before accepting cookies.
If the User chooses not to accept cookies, browsing of the site europages.com may be slower and of inferior quality; this may alter certain functions.

XI.2 Temporary cookies stored by Europages

The Europages server only stores temporary cookies on the computer of the registered User.
These cookies register a number generated internally and at random, thus making it possible, during a session, to identify the registered Users and the information relating to their browsing, the pages they have consulted and the date and time of the consultation.
These temporary cookies are deleted from the User's hard disk as soon as the browser is closed.
The data featuring in the cookies is rendered anonymous, then a copy thereof is stored on the EUROPAGES server.
These cookies are indispensable for the provision of the requested services, as they enable the User to access all the functionalities available on the site europages.com.
Furthermore, they enable EUROPAGES to improve its range of products and services by making it possible to identify, for example, the most frequently visited pages.

XII Use of private data

EUROPAGES hereby undertakes to process the private data it collects on the site europages.com for the following purposes only: 
the overall functioning of the site europages.com;
the functioning of services for registered or subscribing Users;
the collection and forwarding of administrative information;
the collation of statistics on traffic, usage and surveys;
the participation in games or tests;
the receipt of and response to suggestions or requests for information;
the organisation of exchanges of offers;
the security of information transfer;
the organisation of canvassing or marketing operations, notably to inform the User of offers relating to the products and/or services of the site europages.com; 
etc.

XIII Preamble

EUROPAGES acknowledges the importance that must be given to the protection of private data.
In order to protect as effectively as possible the information concerning an identified or identifiable individual registered on the site europages.com, EUROPAGES takes all the necessary measures to apply a strict policy on the protection of private data, particularly high security standards for the products and services on offer directly on the site europages.com.
However, EUROPAGES' policy on the protection of private data does not apply:
to sites, independent of the site europages.com, that have set up a hypertext link or a search block guiding Users to other services;
to sites, independent of the site europages.com, accessible via a hypertext link;
to partner sites of the site europages.com having incorporated one of the services into their sites (co-branding);
to partner sites of the site europages.com accessible via incorporation into one of the services on offer (co-branded sites);
to the sites of EUROPAGES' commercial partners.
EUROPAGES thus advises its Users to consult the policies on the protection of private data applied by these different sites.
