EUROPAGES awarded the European Award 2008 for Quality and Excellence in the B2B category

Paris, October 2008 – The 2008 edition of the European Awards was held on 26 September in Athens on the occasion of the EADP annual convention (European Association of Directory Publishers). For the past 10 years, this international distinction has recompensed the highest-performing directory and database publishers in their respective fields. The jury's decision to award this prize to Europages in the B2B category pays tribute not only to the quality and excellence of the company's service, but also to the all-important innovations it has effectively deployed.

Founded in 1966, the EADP's purpose is to promote – internationally – the fully fledged media form that directories and databases now represent. The association currently has 180 members (6 of which are national associations with 340 members of their own) across 36 countries (25 in Europe). The EADP Awards are given to Internet and non-Internet products (paper, CD-ROM, etc.) in different categories (B2C, B2B). They represent the Association's desire to underscore – via a benchmarking approach – the ongoing progress made in terms of service provided, service efficiency and the innovative aspect of this service.

This award acknowledges the results obtained by Europages which, in 13 years of activity on the Internet, has become the reference B2B search engine for companies who seek to develop their activity overseas.
Indeed, Europages provides free access to a constantly updated database containing over
1,5 million companies in all industry sectors across 35 countries. In addition, companies looking to get started in export or penetrate new markets can establish direct relations with new clients, partners or distributors by placing an ad on the site, thereby gaining immediate visibility.

The figures alone bear testimony to this performance. Europages attracts approximately 2 million visitors per month from over 200 countries, for a total 5 million company searches. This superior service is the result of the company's ongoing policy for innovation. At present, more than 7,000 titles and 40,000 keywords are in operation in 26 languages, thus ensuring the speed and pertinence of searches made. Each ad is translated into 16 languages – a performance unique to Europages – including Chinese and Arabic.
