The Paris region Chambers of Commerce launched a web platform last summer and other services to help small and very small businesses accomplish their “digital transformation”.
The French capital and suburbs (“Ile de France”) region, the first in France economically speaking, with 12 million inhabitants, represents 31% of France’s GDP (642 bn €), 83 bn € exports, 136 bn € imports, 6.1 million jobs. It has a high density of SMEs and start-ups.
The Paris Chambers of Commerce, with the support of the European Union, stating the urgent need to bring local SMEs up to speed on digital transformation, has recently set up the following services :
- An interactive web platform for business users
- Training sessions to learn the basics of e-enterprise
- Tailored services (diagnostic, assistance), workshops and debates/conferences
- A business network to share and build digital strategies
The website www.lesdigiteurs.fr is designed as a platform to inform Paris region entrepreneurs and their co-workers about the digital revolution – from back-office activities to on-line sales through advertising campaigns.
Gilles Dabezies, joint managing director for Business services and International development at the Chambers, describes in an interview in daily “Le Parisien”, the fifty different training courses, lasting from 1 to 5 days, provided at the different premises of the Paris region Chambers of Commerce (CCIP). “We explain how digitization transforms the different parts of a business, from human resource management through logistics, import-export and marketing”.
The service also helps businesses take advantage of digital solutions offered by partners like Facebook, Google, La Poste (the French postal service), French telecoms operator Orange….
Some small business owners are still uncertain about investing in digital transformation (e.g. outsourcing to a sub-contractor) or concerned about its effects, but they don’t want to lose out on what they perceive as an opportunity.
Europages, one of the first Business directories in Europe and a pioneer in embracing the internet in France, offers your company and products unique visibility throughout the EU.
